Progress on Oracle Deck

Second preview of cards. I'm not showing all of them by any means as I need something for a surprise at the end :)

I'm at 17 of 65+ cards done their first pass on art. I'm liking their visual feel at this point. Any changes made will most likely be after their first print (I get one print of cards as a prototype).

Hope you like...

Oracle Deck Design In-Progress

I am currently working on a new set of Oracle cards, Tentatively titled "The Teller's Deck" - the name will be changing.

I've given myself about 4 months to complete the art. I am hoping it takes less, but I will not rush it - having the basic design of each card in mind already helps greatly! The particular medium used for the cards varies. I am creating all art personally, and have used 3D models, Illustrative works, and quite possibly hand drawn/painted works will be used as well. Whatever lends itself to the card as it needs to be rendered to get across the feeling(s) I wish to convey is what will be used.

There is only one change from the image preview that may occur and that is the inclusion of a number somewhere on the card. I'm trying to stay away from 'descriptions' directly on the card so as anyone using them can get their own interpretation without influence. It also allows for the full colour and vibrancy of most of the images to show unhindered.

There will be an 'instruction' manual, of sorts, accompanying the decks. They will have basic descriptions for each card. These descriptions will be simple and for those who want something to start with.

Originally the deck was influence by the LeNormand deck of 36 cards, but has since evolved (greatly) into a 66 card deck (possibly a couple more cards).

The reason for the evolution... I have had always felt many of the card systems I know had such a duality to them. In one context a card could mean one thing, in another, something completely opposite (or different altogether). I took the base LeNormand deck of 36 cards, and began to rework them - splitting those particular cards with a dual nature - and then adding my own cards in to round them out a bit, hence why a few more cards may be added prior to completion.
