Oracle Cards: 4th & 5th Updates on Progress

Ok, the last update was not the last to be seen as I stated. I can't help it, I like sharing ;)

I have 62 cards done out of the 70. I've enjoyed this journey so much. I will be selling the 70 card deck, though price is not worked out as of yet.

Something that may be considered is allowing people to 'brand' the cards for themselves to make them more personal. A one-time charge would allow a logo, or personal design supplied (copyright must be owned by person ordering the cards! - no exceptions) will be printed as the common side. Ownership of cards would remain solely that of Randy McAllister's at all times even if I do go this route.

Eight cards left to do. The end of this journey simply marks the beginning of the next, and who knows, maybe 'collectable add-on' cards for this deck could be done. It is a thought, but at this time, not planned. :)

Hope you like...

Progress on Oracle Deck

Second preview of cards. I'm not showing all of them by any means as I need something for a surprise at the end :)

I'm at 17 of 65+ cards done their first pass on art. I'm liking their visual feel at this point. Any changes made will most likely be after their first print (I get one print of cards as a prototype).

Hope you like...

Oracle Deck Design In-Progress

I am currently working on a new set of Oracle cards, Tentatively titled "The Teller's Deck" - the name will be changing.

I've given myself about 4 months to complete the art. I am hoping it takes less, but I will not rush it - having the basic design of each card in mind already helps greatly! The particular medium used for the cards varies. I am creating all art personally, and have used 3D models, Illustrative works, and quite possibly hand drawn/painted works will be used as well. Whatever lends itself to the card as it needs to be rendered to get across the feeling(s) I wish to convey is what will be used.

There is only one change from the image preview that may occur and that is the inclusion of a number somewhere on the card. I'm trying to stay away from 'descriptions' directly on the card so as anyone using them can get their own interpretation without influence. It also allows for the full colour and vibrancy of most of the images to show unhindered.

There will be an 'instruction' manual, of sorts, accompanying the decks. They will have basic descriptions for each card. These descriptions will be simple and for those who want something to start with.

Originally the deck was influence by the LeNormand deck of 36 cards, but has since evolved (greatly) into a 66 card deck (possibly a couple more cards).

The reason for the evolution... I have had always felt many of the card systems I know had such a duality to them. In one context a card could mean one thing, in another, something completely opposite (or different altogether). I took the base LeNormand deck of 36 cards, and began to rework them - splitting those particular cards with a dual nature - and then adding my own cards in to round them out a bit, hence why a few more cards may be added prior to completion.

Energy Healing Modalities

As a Reiki Practitioner, this is a question I get quite often, "What is Reiki?", and though Reiki has gained much popularity in the last few decades, in hospitals and hospices for pain control and relaxation, it is still largely unknown.

When stated that Reiki was developed in Japan, it seems many people veer away from it as a 'foreign' type of treatment or 'magic', however there are many modalities worldwide which are in the form of energy healing - some more well-known than others. To name a few:
  • Reiki
  • Quantum Touch
  • Polarity Therapy
  • Matrix Energetics
  • Acupuncture / Acupressure
  • Therapeutic Touch
  • Pranic Healing
There are more, but these are the most common I know of. Some of these have a contact OR non-contact method of delivering the energy.

All have to do with boosting, moving or unblocking energy in a subject (this can be a  person, animal or, surprisingly, in some cases an object). Even massage therapy, a very well known modality, moves and unblocks energy throughout the body.

To clarify: Reiki translates into several meanings that are similar. The popular one I will use is 'Universal Energy'. Rei (Ray) = Universal; Ki (Key) = Energy. It is the method of delivery which was developed in Japan, not what the resulting energy does. The same energy is used by all other methods in some way, just with their own method of delivery and interaction, most having similarities in that regard as well.

The method in which I conduct a Reiki treatment is as follows (and may be similar for other practitioners out there). In a Reiki Treatment, the client lays on a table (massage table, or the like - though sitting in a chair will work equally well), fully clothed, as the practitioner begins a 'laying on of hands.' Though I use 'no contact', other practitioners may, or may not use contact, instead, hovering the hands a few inches from the body. It is the client's choice, however, not to have contact if the practitioner begins using contact. Either way, it will not affect the resulting energy flow from the practitioner. The genital/breast area never (ever) have contact regardless - hands will be hovering over these sensitive areas. The energy flow from the practitioner's hands may be felt as a warmth, coolness, tingling - it is different for each practitioner and client combination - sometimes nothing at all is felt during the session. Whether felt or not, the energy will be flowing and doing its work. The locations for the hands will usually be the major chakra points of the body as well as arms and legs. This may be different for individual Reiki practitioners who may simply go by their intuition as to where to get the energy flowing in the client's body. The chakras are at points along the spine, starting at the tailbone and up to the crown of the skull as illustrated.

These chakras are powerful energy centers in our body that have been known for many thousands of years. There are 7 major chakras as on the illustration, plus many minor chakras, not shown, throughout the body and even on the outside of the body (think satellites orbiting a planet) which are always connected energetically to us. These energy centers can become blocked by stagnant energy, usually the result of bad habits, high emotions, stress to name a few. The Reiki practitioner will attempt to unblock the energy in these areas to get a healthy flow back to normal. Though rare, this release of energy can sometimes cause emotions to surface for what may appear to be no reason to the client, but none-the-less it is important. Whether the reason is apparent or not, breathing deeply and letting the emotions run their course in a safe environment will have positive results.

After I have worked on the chakras, other areas of the body may be concentrated on or re-visited and have energy directed to them. The Reiki practitioner may feel a very hot (or cold) area and know this is a problematic spot. The directed energy is used to smooth out the irregularity in that area (it may be an old wound, a bruise, arthritis, rough joint or any number of things).

At the end of the treatment, I announce - softly - that the treatment is over and I then give the client 5-10 minutes to allow them to 'come back to earth' as they have essentially entered a meditative state - some even fall asleep. Once they are a bit more coherent, I share any insights I may have had if they are open to such information, and of course, they may share any they have had. Many times I hear of my clients receiving solutions to problems that have been perplexing them for weeks, months or longer, or mentally entering some beautiful far off land and meeting people whom aid them on their life's journey in some way, all of which have extremely vivid visuals - sometimes loved ones who have crossed over return simply to encourage them. And yet others simply enjoy the peaceful and relaxing nature of Reiki even if they do not have any of these experiences.

I urge everyone, after a Reiki treatment to drink lots of water. Water is the lubricant of the body and aids the energy to travel through the body with greater ease.

Magic? Well... one person's magic is another person's science (and vise-verse). I have to say... I like believing in magic myself.

"Those who don't believe
in magic will never find it."
~ Roald Dahl  ~

I have not experienced many other energy modalities, except for Reiki, Acupressure and Matrix Energetics - I am, however, open to other non-invasive methods - I must say that a Reiki treatment is a very relaxing experience. My first experience had me feeling almost 'drunk with energy' coming off the table. Wonderful feeling! It was this, in part, that brought me to become a Reiki practitioner.

Past Life Regression - Personal Adventure

Through learning hypnosis, I was taught an interesting technique which involves taking someone into their past lifetimes, simply called, Past Life Regression (PLR). A process by which the individual under hypnosis is guided back in their minds to another lifetime which may be hundreds, if not thousands of years ago - when they had another body and social identity to go with it. This process uses the deeper part of the subconscious to experience what happened in that life while maintaining complete safety.

The theory behind PLR is that our soul moves from life to life, being born and journeying through life up to the body's eventual death, then entering into the next birth/death cycle in another body.. and repeat. Information from these past lives can be stored in our subconscious. It is a proven fact that our subconscious records every single minute detail of our current life without forgetting anything - it is simply our conscious mind's filtering of 'level of importance' that makes us forget - putting these details into the hazy background of our mind. Under hypnosis information may be brought to the forefront again, even if the conscious mind had originally filtered the details.

Much about ourselves may be learned by, in turn, learning about various past lives we have had. We may have issues that are very difficult to deal with in the present, that actually began several 'past lives' ago, of which we continually hold onto. By using PLR, it is possible to take an individual back so they may gain knowledge and properly deal with their 'unfinished business' - business which may affect them negatively to this day. (Note: by no means am I implying that all problems and issues are due to past life events!)

In the future, I will create my own CDs so others may enjoy the experience and put themselves through a form of self-hypnosis in the safety of their own home. A guided meditation of sorts for information gathering in and of past lives.

At this point I have no self-made CDs, so I performed a past-life regression on myself using a track from a CD that came with the book "Healing Your Past Lives" by Roger Woolger, Ph.D. The third of four tracks from the accompanying CD, and it was a comfortable 10, or so, minutes long.

My PLR experience...
The CD's guide first invited me to imagine traveling the world - to places whether I've been there physically or not. Through that mental travel, I am asked to pay attention to those places I enjoy visiting, and, noting those places I totally despise visiting. Both extremes would hold something for me.

As I roam floating around, I find myself touching down in Norway a long time ago. I 'enter' my body of the era. I look down to see a type of fur lined boot on my feet, hide wrapping around my arms (ridiculously massive arms I might add!) with fur trim around my shoulders (a cape?) - Very Viking-esque I notice. I manage an 'outside look' of myself, I appear to be in late 40's to mid 50's with long hair and lots of facial hair - brown/blonde with what seems like grey showing. Looking further away from me, I notice I am by a shoreline, snow and ice abundant everywhere - and it is snowing quite a bit at this time. A viking ship is just a little ways off shore with the crew coming on land as I watch. I can see faces and features so well (a time I wish I kept up with portrait sketching!). Not sure if I am greeting them there after their return, or I am first off the ship to usher them towards, what I recognize as, the direction of the village. As they pass me, I looking out and upwards, a blizzard is coming inland as the snow intensifies greatly. I notice something come out of the water below/behind the viking ship, looking almost man-made, but the scene switches to the next guided details too rapidly.

At the request of the CD's guidance, the scene switches to a happy celebration of sorts. Not sure how long after/before the previous vision - it is not snowing and it is night time, large fires in various areas of a clearing - where there is no fire, it is pitch black! Many sitting around - male and female. Food being passed around (huge chunks of meat and wooden bowls with a thick mush in it). I get another outside look at myself. I am glossy-eyed with a blank stare reflecting the firelight. One would think this is due to the apparent alcohol of the era, but I feel it is more from deep thought about something else. Feel a physical pain in my right side - waist level. This was felt both 'then' and now in that area.

Scene switches, once again of the CD's guidance, to the death of myself in this era. This switches more to an outside view of myself. I am laying on a cot with very thin clothing on - what I am wearing almost reminds me of pajamas. A wrap around my waist with blood spot on the right (same area as pain felt at 'celebration' scene). There is a woman here, though I don't see her, I can feel her presence in the corner of the room. Shortly after entering this scene, I cross over and float upwards experiencing the death at the CD's request. Floating upwards, looking back to see my body. Then upwards I see the full glory of Valhalla, but as I approach it shimmers and fades out and I go into spirit world - more like what people have described when they have near-death experiences and come back. There was no fear, but I felt very tired, but relieved. I found this scene quite interesting. With each culture's view of where an individual goes after death, and in this case, the expectation is somewhat met, only to shimmer out to the view of the spirit world altogether. Maybe this is due to my current knowledge of this spirit world, or maybe that's what happens. I really don't know, but it is interesting none the less!

Thank you for reading! My intention is to create a few PLR CDs for both a short session (overview) and a longer session (more in-depth information gathering). I will post when they are done if there is an interest.

Intuitive Workshop: An Experience in Personal Creation

I have been wanting to design my own Oracle cards for quite some time, but never felt like I had time as I knew once I started I had to keep the energy going and flowing. However...

About a month ago, I decided to start work on an outline for a workshop I would like to offer people who are interested. Everyone is intuitive, and everyone has psychic abilities - though the psychic aspect may be dormant, and the intuitive abilities may need some flexing of its muscle to get it warmed up again. I, as this blog has outlined previously in posts, have had the opportunity to get some training from a psychic who makes a living doing this. Afterwards, I studied various other methods of exercising my intuition for my own purposes. I have done several readings for other people, both for money and for charity, but mostly I use it is for myself. This is the basis for the workshop, exercising and expanding your intuition for your own use. What you would do with it after the workshop is your business.

For the workshop, I am creating my own tools which will be included. Already done is a simple, but effective, 32 card oracle deck. There is a simple information/workbook with the topics covered (a more detailed 'textbook' version, with expanded information, as well as the covered topics is also being looked at for the future) I am looking into having pewter pendulums created to my own design. These are just a couple of several trinkets included in the workshop that the participants may keep and work with afterwards, not just for practice, but also practical use.

The oracle deck as it is now...
This deck will serve multiple purposes within the workshop and for personal use afterwards :)

Once the materials are complete and I'm happy with the results (ahem :) ) I'll be letting everyone know when, and where these workshops will take place.

Until then,

Sneaky Synchronicities...

Surprises can be very nice... Especially those that prove the path your on is the right one and that the work you do is noticed.

About 6-8 months ago, I bought the following book...

A very nice book. I bought it due to my fascination with symbols in general.  During this whole time, I only got up to, and bookmarked page 116 as I got busy with other things and put the book out of sight. During a recent viewing of a music video, I noticed the performer had a symbol tattooed on her neck. Grabbing my book and moving ahead page by page, I froze on pg 119, just 3 pages further than my bookmark, where I saw this...

I had to stare for a bit as I realized that the serpent (beside the fish) was an image I had uploaded to Shutterstock some time ago. What makes this experience even better... I didn't know my illustration was in the book upon purchase, it was simply a book I was drawn to through my interest. How wonderful that my imagery would be used in a book that has a high standing in interest for me in the first place. I am so very grateful for this! :)
