About a month ago, I recall seeing the 'resident' hawk hanging around my parent's home looking for prey. As I watched, I also recall asking silently to myself, "I would be so grateful for a hawk feather that I may use in my meditations and psychic work".
As a totem, the hawk "...holds the key to higher levels of consciousness. This totem awakens vision and inspires a creative life purpose...". My life being a mixture of the creative and spiritual, this totem is very important to me. Other significances of this totem: Superiority, Spirit, Light, Power, Focus, Prophecy, Freedom, Aspiration, Intensity, Determination.
This hawk has been visiting my parent's home for a couple of years due to the smaller birds, rabbits and squirrels visiting as well. A few days ago, my mother approached me with a huge smile on her face. She said 'Guess what I found near the front steps!' She showed it to me - a hawk feather - a beautiful, golden sheen coming from it. Left right at the door no less!
My mother knows my 'past-time' and I chuckled as I told her about my silent request and how I would have to put my request in again. I was so thankful, and surprised, when she gave the feather to me. I told her I would take care of it.

I will be looking for a clear container of sorts that I might place it in so it doesn't 'ruffle' too much. I am very grateful for this gift from both my mother and especially the hawk for leaving it knowing the feather would make its way to me. Thank you both!
Move through life with your eyes, mind and heart open, and many things will be made clear to you on your journey. Take care.
