It's In The Cards...

I've always had a fascination with Tarot and Oracle card sets. Being of an artistic nature, the first thing that attracts me is the art on most of these cards.

I have recently purchased The Psychic Tarot/Oracle Deck (a hybrid of a conventional Tarot deck with name changes and some added original cards, including Chakra cards), and The Druid Animal Oracle Deck to use as tools for my intuitive work. Images of the covers at right may be clicked on to go to respective web sites if you are interested (leaves this site).

Though it is always said, you need nothing more than yourself for Intuition work. It does, however, aid the 6th sense when you have something stimulating any of your other senses - and I am a visual person so I like pictures!

I have been using The Psychic Tarot deck for a week now and have received some pretty accurate results. The cards chosen made sense. Most draws were simply 'ask question', 'draw card' and read into the answer. These were the simple readings. The more complex reading was done as a 3-card draw. Past, Present and Future were drawn upon a more complex question. I was blown away by the results as the cards were exactly what had happened, is happening and though I have no proof (yet), what will be the result (hmm.. law of attraction put them there? :) - could get really confusing).

The Druid Animal Oracle Deck has much more reading to do into the history and method of use. A hardcover book comes with it giving history and details of each of the 33 animals used in the deck. The set also supplies 3 blank cards that you can sketch your own animal onto if you have a preference that is not included in the original deck. Truth be told, there are many animals that could have been added to this deck, however, the creators chose the animals that had more of a history with the Druids.

A simple question I asked, for a single card draw, was "What animal energy currently depicts me?" to which I got an upside down Horse (Restlessness, difficulty settling down, not completing tasks) which completely resonates with me. The second question, relating to the first, was "What animal energy should I strive to be?" To this, I got the Sow (Generosity, nourishment, discovery). Opening myself up to receive, as well as give, more abundance was part of the description.

All in all, you can get some great insight into yourself - this in and of itself may scare people off but at the point I'm at, I love this insight!

Update: August 5, 2011

Picked up the Gaia Oracle Deck by Toni Carmine Salerno. After seeing my friend Lesley pick up this card set at a fair, I started to search for it with no luck. A local store picked them up and on a visit they were purchased immediately. Some very beautiful artwork by an intuitive artist. This 45 card set also has with it 45 affirmation, one for each card written along with an explanation of each cards meanings. You are, as you should with all card sets, invited to look 'deeper' into the images that are displayed on the cards to develop your own interpretations of their symbolic nature. There's something there for everyone!
